5 Opponents Brock Lesnar Must Face

Brock Lesnar is arguably the best pure athlete that World Wrestling Entertainment has ever had the pleasure of employing. His combination of speed, raw power and athleticism is perhaps almost unmatched by anyone else that has ever stepped foot in the squared ring. Yet, when it comes to unlocking his potential, I find that his opponents tend to bring out the best in him, and there are five opponents that he has yet to face that I’d like to see him face during his final run with WWE. Hopefully it’s not his final, but you never know. With that said, here are my top five dream opponents.

5. Randy Orton

Now, technically these two faced off already in a match back in 2002 when Lesnar was getting his monster push and Randy was just scraping the surface during his WWE run. Let’s face it, though, Orton has grown considerably in the following thirteen years, and this has been a match that has been talked about by many of the WWE fans as a match they’d like to see. The RKO vs. the F-5. Fellow members of the OVW class of 2002 facing off. While Lesnar is probably the greatest athlete WWE has seen, Randy Orton is arguably the most gifted wrestler WWE has seen. When he’s motivated, there is none that executes moves with such precision and with effortless ease such as Orton. That is what would make this match so intriguing. These two have their own respective talents and a match between the two would be nothing short of epic. People have been asking for this match to take place for a long time now, and with both of them on the roster, we are about overdue for one. Make it happen, WWE creative.

4. Kevin Owens

Kevin Owens has already proven that he can hold his own in a ring, but he has also shown that he can hold his own with the top face of the company, John Cena. That is all you really need to know about this man, and how quickly he has ascended to being arguably the top heel in WWE today. Kevin Owens has a unique, unorthodox style that makes you unable to keep your eyes off the screen when he wrestles. He’s very physical, and despite his vulgar physique, he doesn’t need to prove to anyone what he is capable of in the ring. Perhaps the best attribute to his wrestling acumen is his ability to carry a match for long periods of time. He almost never looks gassed and just when you think he is done, he gives you a pop up power bomb. There is no questioning his greatness, something his critics had been relentless on before his match with John Cena at Elimination Chamber. If these two were to face off, all bets are off. Hell will be opened up.

3. Sheamus

I find that Sheamus is very underrated. Sure, I’m no fan of him holding the Money In The Bank briefcase as the next guy, but if he’s paired with the right opponent, he puts on very solid matches on a consistent basis. Which brings me to a potential match with Brock Lesnar. The possibilities of him in a match with Sheamus are endless if you ask me. Of all the people in this group, I think Sheamus’ physicality is what sets him apart. He is hard hitting and doesn’t hold back on his blows. I think he would be capable of producing a match similar to what Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns did at WrestleMania. They are just two powerful men who are trying to flat out hurt each other. His power is also an unsound strength of his. With Brock Lesnar, you won’t be getting a technical classic a la Kurt Angle/Chris Benoit, but what you will get with this match is a flat out fight. Nothing more, nothing less.

2. Daniel Bryan

Whether it be Kurt Angle or CM Punk, Brock Lesnar has shown that some of his best work comes when fights a smaller, but more technically sound wrestler. That’s what makes Brock Lesnar so unique, and that’s what would make a match with Daniel Bryan, I think one of the best of the modern era. Of course, with Daniel Bryan’s ever so prevalent health issues ranging from his neck to concussion issues, speculation has increased that Daniel Bryan’s in-ring career may be over, even from the likes of Bret Hart. A match with Brock Lesnar may almost certainly exacerbate these issues. Daniel Bryan says he plans to get back in the ring and one can hope that he will, because there isn’t quite a wrestler like him. A match with Brock Lesnar would of course have the underdog resonating effect to it. Trust me, this is a match that would be the absolute best way to bring out the best in both men. Lesnar’s physicality and Daniel Bryan’s technical prowess would make for one barnburner.

1. Cesaro

This is my earnest belief. From top to bottom, in terms of pure wrestling, Cesaro is the best on the roster. He probably has a record for most four star matches on RAW and Smackdown. When he gets a chance to show his skill in prolonged matches, such was the case at this past week on RAW, he proves why people call him so. First, Cesaro’s strength is incredible, and what’s best about him is that he isn’t the bulkiest of men either. He does it rather effortlessly as if it is routine. However, what differentiates him from the rest of this group is that he excels in both facets. He can also wrestle a technically sound match. Of course his wrestling on the independent scene proceeds him, but it’s his versatility as a wrestler that gives me the top choice for him. All that is needed for Cesaro is an opportunity. The chance to truly show what he has, and I believe there is no greater opponent to bring out the best within him that than the beast incarnate, Brock Lesnar.

Did I miss anyone? Wish I should have sex with myself? Let me know. Until next time.
