The 2024 Owen Hart Foundation Cup kicked off on this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite, with the first match of both the men’s and women’s tournaments taking place and the reveal of the full brackets.
Starting off with the women’s bracket, the first-round matches are as follows:
- Willow Nightingale vs. Serena Deeb
- Kris Statlander vs. Nyla Rose (*result already determined)
- Deonna Purrazzo vs. Hikaru Shida
- Mariah May vs. Saraya

Kris Statlander was victorious over Nyla Rose, moving on to the semifinals, where she’ll face the winner of Nightingale and Deeb. Considering the end of their friendship and the promo afterward that Willow cut about going after Statlander, it’s safe to assume Nightingale will be victorious over Deeb to give us the former friends duking it out for the left side of the bracket.
As far as the men’s tournament is concerned, Claudio Castagnoli was defeated by PAC after a series of pinfall attempts, where The Bastard just happened to catch Castagnoli with a quick three-count.
PAC will go on to face the winner of Bryan Danielson vs. Shingo Takagi, which will take place at AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door.
That will determine the left side of the bracket, while the right side features:
- Rey Fenix vs. Jay White
- Jeff Jarrett vs. a wildcard to be announced.

Keep in mind that the finals of this tournament will take place July 10, 2024 at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
