As reported yesterday here on eWrestlingNews.com, Santino Marella and (seven other Superstars) were released from WWE on Friday afternoon, Following his release, Santino tweeted the following, reflecting on nearly 10 years with WWE:
This August would’ve been 10 years with #WWE, not bad for a guy who had his first match at age 29, it took me 3 HARD yrs to get there

Marella signed a WWE developmental contract way back in 2006 before making his on-screen debut in April of 2007. He’s now planning to work more with his “Battle Arts Academy”:
