The 25-man battle royal to kick off tonight’s episode of WWE NXT had its fair share of noteworthy moments with NXT talent like Joe Hendry and Frankie Kazarian in the mix, main roster Superstars such as Apollo Crews and Los Garza, and more all fighting for a title opportunity.
Surprisingly, even with the odds stacked against his favor as a relative rookie (especially in comparison to many veterans who were in the match), Je’Von Evans was the sole survivor, taking out Shawn Spears to win the bout.

This has earned “The Young OG” a shot at the NXT Championship, and it’s been made official that he and Trick Williams will battle it out at NXT Heatwave coming up on July 7, 2024 at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
This will be interesting not just because of Evans being a fresh challenger and his unique style, but also due to his friendship with Williams in recent months. Arguably, Evans has been the champ’s best ally after his split from Carmelo Hayes.
