WWE SmackDown (7/30) Results: Owens & Rollins Vs. Cesaro & Ambrose

Welcome to Thursday night SmackDown, Seth Rollins walked down to the ring to open the show. He cuts a promo about how he beat Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania to become champion and then beat him at Battleground and yet fans ask him “so what?” But when he tapped out to John Cena on Raw that’s the only things fans remember. He pointed out that he broke John Cena’s nose before tapping out to Cena.

They showed footage from the match on Raw.
Rollins said that he did something beautiful. Cesaro interrupted and walked down to the ring. Cesaro mentioned that Rollins tapped out. Rollins denied that he tapped out and said that he has bigger fish to fry than John Cena.

Cesaro says that he would see Rollins later tonight. Seth yelled at Cesaro to get out of the ring so Cesaro said that it would be a good idea to make Seth tap out now. We have a match now.

Singles Match: Seth Rollins vs. Cesaro

Cesaro with a single leg takedown repeatedly. Rollins rolled out of the ring to regroup. Kevin Owens walked down to the ring and joined the commentary booth.

-Commercial Break-

We’re back with Cesaro hitting Rollins with a double foot stomp. Cesaro went for a springboard move, but blocked and ate a back elbow. Rollins off the middle rope, but was caught. Cesaro hit a suplex for 2. Cesaro went for a spear, but Rollins moved and went straight into the turnbuckle. Cesaro with a series of uppercuts. Rollins off the ropes and kicked him in the shoulder with a kick.

Cesaro reversed a clothesline and hit a back suplex. Cesaro with an uppercut that sent Rollins across the ring. Cesaro with a series of uppercuts in the corner. Cesaro went for the giant swing, but Kevin Owens ran in and attacked Cesaro.

Post-match, Owens and Rollins attacked Cesaro then walked to the back.

-Commercial Break-

The New Day cut a promo prior to the match stating that they would become champions once again real soon.

Eight Man Tag Team Match: Lucha Dragons and Los Matadores vs. New Day and The Ascension while the Prime Time Players were on commentary.

Sin Cara hit a series of clotheslines on Konnor then he went to the top rope, but was pushed off by Xavier Woods and crashed to the floor to send us to break.

-Commercial Break-

We’re back with The New Day and The Ascension double teaming Sin Cara in the corner. They beat him down and keeps him isolated in their corner to gain heat from the fans. Sin Cara rolled and got the hot tag to Kalisto. Kalisto then hit a big DDT to Big E. Xavier Woods distracted Kalisto, but El Torito took out Woods with a kick. The Los Matadores took out Konnor. Victor tagged himself in, Big E was dragged to the floor. Victor picked up Kalisto, but Kalisto rolled through and pinned him.

Winners: Lucha Dragons and Los Matadores

-Commercial Break-

A Becky Lynch hype video package is shown.

Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper cut a backstage promo. Harper said he now has a purpose thanks to Bray. Wyatt said that he is willing to do anything to remove the devil from inside Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns. He’s here for them…

-Commercial Break-

Rusev cuts a promo in the ring about how Lana’s actions on Raw were unacceptable. He promised to make it up to Summer Rae by taking her and Dog Ziggler on a walk, but far away from Oklahoma.

Singles Match: Rusev vs. Jack Swagger.

Swagger with a shoulder block that sent Rusev to the floor to regroup. Due to Swagger being in his home state, he was mega over. Back in the ring, Swagger missed a splash in the corner. Rusev hit a big boot then some clubbing strikes to the back of Swagger. Rusev with a suplex for 2. Rusev went for another suplex, but blocked and instead, Swagger hit one of his own. Rusev cut him off with a clothesline. Rusev missed a splash in the corner and Swagger went for the ankle lock, but Rusev kicked him off. Swagger with a series of right hands in the corner to Rusev. Rusev ducked a clothesline and sent him to the floor.

-Commercial Break-

We’re back with Swagger kicking Rusev in the face. Swagger with a clothesline, he went for the Swagger bomb, but blocked. Rusev ran into a belly-to-belly for 2. Swagger went for the ankle lock, but Rusev blocked. Swagger with a clothesline and hit the Swagger bomb on Rusev for 2. Rusev rolled to the floor, Swagger followed, Rusev sent him face first into the ring post and then back into the ring. Rusev with a superkick then the accolade for the win.

Winner: Rusev

-Commercial Break-

Singles Match: Stardust vs. R-Truth.

They lock up, Truth throws Stardust into the corner, but missed a splash and Stardust hit him from behind. Truth off the ropes and hit a sunset flip into a pin attempt for 2. Truth with a series of kick and clotheslines, Truth went for a suplex, but Stardust blocked and hit Cross Rhodes for the win.

Winner: Stardust

Post-match, Stardust cuts a promo about how Truth let us down. He starts to put a Stardust mask on Truth, but Neville ran down to the ring to make the save. Neville stood tall in the ring to close the segment.

-Commercial Break-

Tag Team Match: Cesaro and Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens.

The match starts with all four men brawling. Cesaro and Ambrose cleared the ring. We cut to a quick commercial break.

-Commercial Break-

We’re back with Owens in control of Cesaro. Owens hit a back splash for 2. Rollins tagged in, he went to the top rope, but missed a flying knee. Cesaro got the hot tag to Ambrose. Ambrose went after Rollins and hit a series of kicks to Rollins in the corner. Ambrose with a forearm shot in the corner, then a bull dog. Ambrose hit a drop kick to Owens then sent Rollins to the floor. Ambrose took out Rollins with a dive. Back in the ring,

Ambrose went for Dirty Deeds, but blocked and instead hit a facebuster for a near fall. Ambrose puts Rollins on the top rope, he went for a suplex, but blocked. Rollins hit a sunset flip into a powerbomb for 2. Rollins hit a flying knee of the top rope, then a superkick for a near fall. Owens tagged in and hit a suplex off the top rope to Ambrose. Cesaro broke up the pin attempt. Ambrose tagged in Cesaro, who hit a series of uppercuts to Owens. Cesaro hit a powerslam to Owens for a near fall. Cesaro locked in the crossface, but Seth Rollins broke it up. Cesaro hit the giant swing on Rollins. Cesaro went for the sharpshooter on Rollins. He then took out Owens with a clothesline to the floor. Rollins went for a dive, but Ambrose knocked him down and hit a superplex. Ambrose clotheslines Rollins out of the ring. Owens hit a superkick to Ambrose, Cesaro rolled up Owens for the win.

Winners: Cesaro and Dean Ambrose

The babyfaces stand tall to close the show.
