Welcome to another eWrestlingNews Question of the Day!
WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event 37 just went down last night, so it’s time for another EWN QOTD about the pros and cons of the show.
You know the deal—my question for you today is “What were your highlights and low points of WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event?”

As far as my answer…
I was looking forward to this show, but I have to admit that it felt VERY underwhelming overall. Nothing was shocking to me—not that I expected it to be super surprising—but I think they dropped the ball in terms of booking four heels in a row winning and nothing happening outside of a guaranteed new champion being crowned.
Generally speaking, this could have felt like a pay-per-view, but it instead felt to me like a tighter version of an episode of SmackDown with an old school feel to it.
With that being said, the old school retro element of this almost got the nod for highlight for me, and would have if Jesse Ventura would have been more active and more entertaining. But at least they went with the retro theme and, more importantly, the Winged Eagle WWE Championship. That belt is my favorite of all time, since I’m firmly from that era, so it was great to see Cody Rhodes of all people holding that, even if it was just for this one night.
But I’d have to actually give the true biggest plus of this event to Chelsea Green being the one to win the Women’s United States Championship. She’s a fun character who would never be likely winning the women’s world title, and she’ll be able to ride this wave and be an interesting weasel champion. I do still hope Michin wins this or something else at some point, since I think she’s been unfortunately overlooked for her whole career, but I can’t disagree with Green being the better choice.
