Welcome back to another Monday Morning Q&A where I toss out some questions to get a feel of how you guys and gals are feeling about certain topics.
So here are 5 questions I’d like to toss out for this week. I’ll give my answers, too, but the key here is that I want to know what YOU think! So make sure you chime in!
1) Who do you think stole Cleopatra’s egg from Vince McMahon?
Good lord, this whole promotional tie-in isn’t the worst they’ve ever done, but I still have to roll my eyes at it. They literally had Vince ask people to cheer for an egg, then spent several segments for Survivor Series leading up to “watch Raw tomorrow night for the conclusion of this mystery.” Yeesh.
I hope there’s something decent to it, or that they go so off the wall bonkers that it’s at least worthwhile in how awful it is. However, my prediction is that it’s going to be something incredibly worthless and even more disappointing just for existing.
For example, it wouldn’t shock me at all if the egg was stolen by Akira Tozawa and they just write this off as a 24/7 goof segment.
2) Seth Rollins and Bianca Belair were sole survivors. What do you think WWE will do to capitalize on that?
Nothing. Dead serious. I don’t think these two wins will factor in at all. Seth Rollins will continue to build to his title match with Big E with pretty much the same momentum as if he hadn’t won the match and Bianca Belair will just keep fighting with Doudrop while Liv Morgan will be fed to Becky Lynch.
This is why I think both outcomes were mistakes. I just imagine so many more useful opportunities to give those wins to Jeff Hardy/Drew McIntyre and Toni Storm/Liv Morgan.
3) Brock Lesnar’s suspension has been lifted. When do you think we’ll see him appear next?
While I don’t want this to be the case, I’ve been fully convinced WWE wants to do Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns at WrestleMania again, so I expect that to be in the works. Just the same, I think they can’t decide on anything to do other than that, and they have complete tunnel vision for this whole roster and all the creative stuff going on that they also can’t think of anything else for WWE Day 1.
That seems to be an event they’ll want to try to make something out of it. Even then, it’s not as though they’ll put in a ton of effort to build the best possible card. It’ll just have something like a big name like Lesnar on it and that’ll be what WWE considers a good enough selling point.
My theory is that Lesnar will fight Reigns again at Day 1 and beat him by disqualification or count-out so they can set up another match at WrestleMania. Meanwhile, Reigns will beat people at Royal Rumble and on the way to Mania, possibly like Hardy or McIntyre.
If that’s the case, I’d expect Lesnar to show up not at this next episode of SmackDown, but possibly. Depending on if any of those next editions are up against stiff competition, being aired on FS1 or anything different, that’s where they might try to bring Lesnar in to pop a rating. My guess, though, is the December 3rd edition if when he returns.
4) Omos captured the win in the battle royal. What do you think his ceiling is in WWE for the future?
Not to be pessimistic, but with the way WWE’s been firing people like Keith Lee and Karrion Kross as well as anyone who might be in the midst of a push, it wouldn’t shock me anymore if someone like Omos was released tomorrow after this sort of victory. I don’t think that will be the case, but I ultimately do think his time is coming sooner rather than later.
Giants have a shelf life in WWE, most of the time. Unless you’re Andre, most of them are gone within a few years. Even Braun Strowman was booted out and he had more going for him than a lot. Omos can’t cut promos the way WWE wants people to and he’s not someone who’s stellar in the ring, so the novelty of his size is going to wear off. I’m surprised they haven’t gotten tired of him by now, even.
That’s not to crap on the guy. I enjoyed watching him win this, for instance. But I do think he’ll become a comedy character at some point in 2022 and be gone by 2023. I don’t think he’ll have any more big accomplishments in the meantime after this one, either.
Hopefully, he’ll at least get some Pizza Hut, since he didn’t get a chance to grab some at Survivor Series.
5) Out of the champions represented here, who do you wish loses their title first?
My personal preference would be Charlotte Flair, just to see someone different at the forefront. I don’t know who I’d go with as champion to come out of that, though, as the rosters are all messed up even after this draft due to all the releases.
However, if I’m predicting who could lose their title first, it would be Shinsuke Nakamura. I think he could be dropping that belt to Ridge Holland down the line and one of the reasons why they didn’t do it already is because they wanted to do this heel turn with Damian Priest instead.
