Welcome to another eWrestlingNews Question of the Day!
One of the many accolades someone can win in the Royal Rumble match is to be designated the Iron Man or Iron Woman of the gauntlet by lasting longer than any other Superstar. That doesn’t necessarily mean they win the match, as someone can go from the #1 spot to the very end, but be the runner-up, but it’s still one of the best things someone can do to make a name for themselves in the match.
My question for you today is “Who do you think will be the Iron Man and Iron Woman of the 2025 Royal Rumble matches?”

As far as my answer…
This is one of the hardest things to predict. Not only do we not even know who is going to win this year for either match, but it’s a lot easier to guess who will get the most eliminations or who might be taken out the quickest, rather than who will last the longest, as it’s just impossible to know who WWE will put at the beginning of the match. Even if we did know that, it doesn’t mean they’ll last forever.
My gut tells me WWE has to take one of the big names of CM Punk, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, and John Cena and spread them out a bit. They can’t just all be #25-30. That’ll back-end the match too much. Out of all of those, I think Seth Rollins stands the best chance to start early and last until the Final 4, if not to outright win.
But I wouldn’t sleep on AJ Styles being in this spot, to be honest, as I could see him returning as #2 to offset Carmelo Hayes being #1. If that’s the case, The Phenomenal One could very well last into the 20s before being eliminated, which would put him within contention to last the longest for sure.
The same goes for Aleister Black. If WWE wants to make him seem like a particularly special return, an early spot could be within reach. Remember, Andrade was #4 with his return in 2024.
When it comes to the women’s match, I know I would be tempted to put Bianca Belair in that spot if I were running things. She’s the biggest name that is the most reliable to go the distance without getting injured or getting winded, and she’d track to be one of the top potential winners. People like getting invested in an early entrant lasting until the end.
I wouldn’t count out a few other names, though, like Liv Morgan and Bayley. Most of the other names that I think will do well are people I’d imagine will be later on in the match from #20 onward, so the likes of Charlotte Flair, Jade Cargill, Becky Lynch, Nia Jax and so on are probably mathematically disqualified from being the longest in that scenario.
All in all, my predictions will be Seth Rollins and Bianca Belair, but this year’s Royal Rumble is as unpredictable as I can remember, so I’m not putting my wallet on the line for these guesses!
