Welcome to another eWrestlingNews Question of the Day!

AEW All In 2024 was a jam-packed show at Wembley Stadium, with multiple title changes, returns, debuts and more. It was a lot to digest and will surely go down as one of All Elite Wrestling’s biggest events for many different reasons.

My question for you today is “What are your hot takes, biggest reactions, or otherwise major talking points while reviewing AEW All In? Did something stand out to you as a particular highlight or low point? What stood out as the most memorable aspects of the show?”

Remember to answer with your response in the comments below.

As far as my answer…

I’m going to toss out most of my overall review thoughts, rather than just focus on one of them.

  • Jamie Hayter returning was neat, even for someone like myself who doesn’t worship the ground she walked on as champion. I’m glad to see her back regardless.
  • Pac winning the trios titles alongside Blackpool Combat Club was one of my favorite results. I want him to legit just be a member of the BCC at this point, as I think Pac by himself ends up getting lost in the shuffle. I’ll admit that I wish he didn’t have that All Out match with Will Ospreay coming up so he could focus on the trios titles and Ospreay could just face someone else. Even though they’ll have a good match, so could others in the same role, and since it isn’t happening in the UK, it doesn’t feel like there’s a reason to go in this direction right now.
  • Mariah May winning the title means not all that much to me. To be honest, it feels like the TBS Championship is being treated like the real top prize in the women’s division, and just because it’s on Mercedes Mone. But maaaan did that match with Britt Baker not wow me, so I think this wasn’t anywhere near the win for this division that it was supposed to be.
  • Hook winning the FTW Championship back is a good thing, but I’m long past thinking he should retire the title or just convert it into an equivalent of an AEW Hardcore Championship. If it isn’t FTW Rules every match, I just don’t see the point in having a fourth midcard belt.
  • Grizzled Young Veterans will put on a great show against The Young Bucks, but it will be so much better if they don’t do it when both teams are heels. That is going to ruin part of the fun of having someone to cheer for.
  • The Casino Gauntlet was such a great segment. While MJF vs Ospreay and the main event were better matches, I think the gauntlet had the best fan servicing moments.
  • Ricochet has a better logo here in AEW and I’m looking forward to his matches, but I’ll be that guy who says his ceiling is going to be exactly the same as it was in WWE. He’ll be in midcard contention and flirt with the upper-midcard scene to get some world title bouts here and there, rarely, but he won’t win the big one.
  • Zack Sabre Jr showing up was cool, but I’m disappointed nothing was further established that can lead into Dynasty in January. If this were an elimination match, someone like Ricochet could have pinned him and then used that as a justification to challenge for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship (assuming ZSJ wins it and retains through Wrestle Kingdom)
  • Nigel McGuinness being able to wrestle got the biggest pop for me of the night, and I haven’t even seen more than maybe a dozen of his matches ever. I just love it when people who were forced to retire are able to step back in the ring and do something again. Hopefully, this isn’t the last we’ve seen of him.
  • To be honest, I’m disappointed Daniel Garcia didn’t leave for WWE. The lack of a sustained, worthwhile push from AEW has me thinking he’ll fight MJF at All Out and by the time Full Gear comes along, he won’t even be on the card, whereas I think if he were to go to NXT, he would make for a great champion and progress more in his career. Oh well. At least he’s here and not elsewhere.
  • Bryan Danielson winning is great. I love it. But holy hell has history made me nervous about how every time he wins a big title in this situation, something happens to him. I hope he gets to have the run properly and it ends on the planned terms instead of any injuries screwing things up.
  • Texas won’t be as good next year, but Forbidden Door will be better. It’s an even exchange in the grand scheme of things. And while this event had some great stuff going on for it, nothing still comes close to matching how I felt about WrestleMania XL as far as biggest visceral reactions from me as a fan.
