AEW All Out 2023 is coming up this Sunday. Before the event takes place, let’s run down everything you need to know about the upcoming pay-per-view.
Who is scheduled for the card? How interesting does the show seem? What’s going to happen with all the matches?

PPV EVENT INFORMATION
Date: Sunday, September 3, 2023
Start Time: 7 p.m. ET (Zero Hour), 8 p.m. ET (main show)
Location: United Center in Chicago, Illinois
MATCH CARD, PREDICTIONS & HEAT INDEX ANTICIPATION LEVELS

Temperature Scale = Scorching > Hot > Lukewarm > Temperate > Chilly > Cold > Freezing
Heat Index is my assessment of how interesting the segment is, including how excited I am for the match and how intriguing the feud has been. The hotter, the better. Scorching translates to not being able to wait to see it, while Freezing means I couldn’t possibly care less and think it will be awful.
TAG TEAM MATCH:
Eddie Kingston and Katsuyori Shibata vs. Blackpool Combat Club (Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta)
Heat Index = Chilly
Prediction: Blackpool Combat Club wins I guess.
Thoughts: You know how WWE keeps having the same people feud with The Judgment Day, and it’s been going on for months? Yeah, you can apply the same thing to this. All they did here is throw Shibata in because he’s slightly fresher than the others as it’s been a little longer since he’s fought Yuta. This is lazy. I’m 50/50 on the winning side. It SHOULD have repercussions for the ROH titles on opposite sides, but even that is just “if BCC wins, then I guess Yuta gets another rematch against Shibata, and if BCC loses, then Kingston probably gets yet another match against Claudio.” It’s all just treading water. Flip a coin. There’s no need to give a detailed prediction. Although I guess technically, BCC lost both at All In and Yuta lost to Kingston on Dynamite, so maybe BCC wins to offset that.
ROH WORLD TELEVISION CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH:
Samoa Joe (c) vs. Shane Taylor
Heat Index = Freezing
Prediction: Samoa Joe wins.
Thoughts: Nope. This isn’t doing anything for me. I wouldn’t be interested in this match on an ROH television episode, let alone an ROH pay-per-view, let alone what is supposed to be arguably the WrestleMania or SummerSlam of AEW. This is so lame.
SINGLES MATCH:
Kenny Omega vs. Konosuke Takeshita
Heat Index = Lukewarm
Prediction: Kenny Omega wins.
Thoughts: On paper, it’s going to be a good match. Duh. But if I haven’t established this already over the years, I’m not someone who judges a feud based 100% solely on pure sequences of maneuvers. I feel like this feud’s gone on long enough that my interest has waned, preventing this from being anything close to Scorching. Hot would be my level if they hadn’t just fought a few days ago. Lukewarm sounds about right. Either man can win and I’d be okay with it, but since Takeshita won in Wembley, I’ll say Omega gets this one.
AEW INTERNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH:
Orange Cassidy (c) vs. Jon Moxley
Heat Index = Hot
Prediction: Jon Moxley wins.
Thoughts: Yes. This should just be the main event, given the lineup we have. Orange Cassidy is arguably the best champion this company’s had so far and he’s always been one of my top favorites in AEW. Moxley is the anchor of this roster. Even though they just fought, and that should hinder my excitement level for this (which you’ll see elsewhere on this page), I just assume these guys will tear the house down and overcome that. As far as the outcome goes, I keep thinking OC is going to lose the belt and I keep being wrong, but I really do think this is when he’ll be dethroned.
AEW TNT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH:
Luchasaurus (c) (with Christian Cage) vs. Darby Allin
Heat Index = Temperate
Prediction: Luchasaurus wins.
Thoughts: Christian’s great. This feud hasn’t exactly been my favorite thing, though. Considering Darby Allin got the victory at All In, and if he were to win the TNT title another time, he’d just do what he’s done with the belt before, whereas keeping it on Luchasaurus is more interesting, I’m hoping the belt stays where it’s at. Luchasaurus wins via help from Cage.
SINGLES MATCH:
Miro vs. Powerhouse Hobbs
Heat Index = Cold
Prediction: Miro wins.
Thoughts: To be perfectly honest, I have nothing at all to say about this. Legitimately nothing. It is a feud that isn’t remotely on my radar. Sorry. It means zilch to me. Both deserve better.
AEW TBS CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH:
Kris Statlander (c) vs. Ruby Soho
Heat Index = Cold
Prediction: Kris Statlander wins.
Thoughts: I’ll be perfectly honest, I’ve never been the biggest Ruby Soho fan. She’s a capable hand, but I can’t get into her as a champion or a challenger or the driving force of a feud. This could be a title change moment or it could just be a Statlander retains scenario and either one of them isn’t going to change anything in my book any more than if this was a non-title match, in the grand scheme. Sorry, Kris. It just feels like the women’s division is as bland right now as Wheat Thins.
STRAP MATCH:
Ricky Starks vs. Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat
Heat Index = Lukewarm
Prediction: Ricky Starks wins.
Thoughts: Technically, this isn’t confirmed yet, but it might as well be. How is Steamboat able to wrestle? I’m concerned about that. I’m more interested in this than most of the rest of the card just because it’s Steamboat, but I can’t say the idea of the feud on Collision is something that enthralls me. This is more about curiosity than legitimate hype. Give the win to Starks through some shenanigans, I guess. Crazy to think Steamboat vs. Jericho was 14 years ago. Starks would have been only 19 years old.
ROH WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH:
Better Than You Bay Bay (Adam Cole and MJF) (c) vs. The Dark Order (Alex Reynolds and John Silver)
Heat Index = Temperate
Prediction: Adam Cole and MJF win.
Thoughts: Why is this Dark Order and not The Kingdom? Or even Sammy Guevara and Chris Jericho? Good lord. This card. Look, I like Silver and Reynolds, but they’re just definitively not big enough stars to save this lineup and come off like the best possible opponents for MJF and Cole. You’re already not going to have the world champion defend his title, seemingly no Real World Championship bogus match OR the women’s world championship on the line, and this is the best you can come up with for the ROH tag titles? C’mon. Granted, the belts could change hands here as Dark Order would indeed make sense as the tag team champions of Ring of Honor, so that’s at least interesting, but this could very easily just be Cole and MJF retaining, continuing that story, and Tony Khan saying one of his catch phrases in media calls about how he thinks these guys will have a great match and that’s effectively it. Sorry, but I need more than tossing some people together at the 11th hour and saying “But the in-ring action will be solid, right? Good enough?”
EIGHT-MAN TAG TEAM MATCH:
Bullet Club Gold (Austin Gunn, Colten Gunn, Jay White, and Juice Robinson) vs. FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood) and The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson)
Heat Index = Lukewarm
Prediction: Bullet Club Gold wins.
Thoughts: Eehhhh again, this is just TK throwing some talented people together and hoping that’s good enough. Yes, they’re overall really good. But try a little harder! I guess I have a different approach to things where I don’t just want to watch someone run the numbers all the time. I’d rather have more substance. FTR and The Young Bucks probably can’t communicate and that leads to Bullet Club Gold winning here so Jay White and Juice Robinson can get a title shot against FTR.
OVERALL PPV:
How excited am I for the event as a whole?
Heat Index = Chilly
Thoughts: No world titles. Or Hangman? Jericho vs Guevara? Tons of other people? What is the main event for this? Does this really need to happen? You cannot tell me that this isn’t proof that All In and All Out isn’t 1 true card split in half with some filler thrown in there. Yes, there are talented people on this show, but the same goes for Payback and they’re both very clearly half-assed and I don’t think fans should just suck it up, eat it, swallow it and be okay with that stuff happening. It certainly isn’t worth $50 after you just paid $50 for All In.
