Welcome to another eWrestlingNews Question of the Day!

The results for AEW All Out 2024 are in, and even though no titles changed hands, there were some pretty big moments throughout the night. Undoubtedly, there will also be some downers from some perspectives, depending on your point of view.

My question for you today is “What would you say was your personal biggest highlight and biggest low point of AEW All Out 2024?”

Remember to answer with your response in the comments below.

As far as my answer…

As far as the low point, I would say it’s the overall same criticism I tend to have about AEW events. Starting this at 6:30 to spend an hour and a half running down the card and seeing some tag team matches that I didn’t care about whatsoever and wasn’t impressed about, only to then start a show that didn’t end until toward the midnight hour, is just too long. I have no problem watching 3+ hour movies if I’m really loving it, or binging multiple episodes of a TV show if the episodes are hooking me, but if it’s just okay here and there, I do grow tired of it. By the time the Mercedes Mone and Hikaru Shida match kicked in, I had had my fill of the bombardment of the AEW style, and I was finding myself low on energy and really wanting to just watch or do something else. That hindered my excitement for Bryan Danielson versus Jack Perry, and I checked the clock more times than I should have during that otherwise good match.

Oddly enough, a runner-up for my highlight of the night was that Danielson/Perry segment’s follow-up. The turn from Blackpool Combat Club choking out Danielson has me intrigued, particularly why Yuta wasn’t in on it and they needed to have Pac hold him back. I’m curious to see what direction this goes next.

I would have given the top spot of the night to the International Championship match, as that was my favorite normal bout from start to finish. Will Ospreay and Pac were doing some amazing things and by the time the match ended, I was still down to see some more.

But then, the main event happened, and I can be a sucker for some brutality. I really liked the use of the wooden spike. That was a nice touch to up the ante for the violence, but also bring in the storyline element of the burned down house. The hypodermic needle and the chair shot to end this certainly wasn’t how I anticipated it would go down. Obviously, I hope that chair was gimmicked properly to be a safe blow to the head. What a great way to make Page look like he’s completely unhinged.
