Welcome to another eWrestlingNews Question of the Day!
It was announced yesterday that Triple H is going to headline the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2025. You might be thinking to yourself “Hasn’t he already been inducted?” He has, making him one of now many people who have more than one Hall of Fame induction under their name.
My question for you today is “Should people be inducted multiple times? Does that mean anything to you? Is it just a superfluous waste?”

As far as my answer…
I’m firmly in the camp that people shouldn’t be inducted more than once, or, at the very least, that they should only be inducted a second time if they’re part of a group.
For example, had Sean Waltman gone into the Hall of Fame before as X-Pac / 1-2-3 Kid, and then been included in the D-Generation X group (similar to Shawn Michaels), then sure, put him in there, as it’d be odd for him to just sit out of the group. But to induct Triple H solo after he was already put in for DX? I’m not a big fan of that for many reasons.
Before anyone goes nuts, this is not me saying Triple H doesn’t deserve to be in the HOF by his lonesome. Of course he does. The guy’s held more championships than damn near anyone, was a main-eventer for an extended amount of time, has so many records and accolades and special moments to his career that this is undeniable. But my issue with it is that we’ve already seen him get inducted, so that basically defeats the purpose of this induction.
Does WWE not want to induct some people so badly that they just keep feeling the need to induct people who we see on a regular basis? Rey Mysterio felt like a last-minute decision, Paul Heyman made sense but was still an active person, and this is coming across to me like they looked at a list and said “Well, we can’t get Batista (for some reason), and screw those other people as they’re not big enough, so maybe we just go with Triple H again?”
Who’s the rest of the class going to be, R-Truth, Natalya and Lilian Garcia with some old school names thrown in there in rapid-fire succession? As much as all three of those also deserve to go in at some point, inducting people we see regularly makes it feel less special.
Why not induct William Regal and have him as the headliner? Or Lex Luger? Maybe, you go with a couple big enough names instead of one big headliner if you’re worried those two and people like Michelle McCool, Victoria, Savio Vega, Al Snow, Jacques Rougeau, Finlay, Ken Shamrock, Chavo Guerrero, Jim Johnston, Bruce Prichard, Tommy Dreamer, Haku, and posthumous inductions like Sid, Umaga, Bam Bam Bigelow and so on not being “good enough”, but I find it hard to believe inducting someone like Regal, Luger, or say Mickie James wouldn’t be headliner-worthy.
How many times is WWE going to revisit the same people, too? Are we going to get “The Brothers of Destruction” inducted next year to throw Kane and Undertaker back out there? And then, Evolution will be inducted to get a third one for Triple H and Ric Flair while setting up Batista and Randy Orton to be two-time inductees since they’ll get solo ones, too?
Had Triple H not been already inducted via DX, I would be way more positive about this, but now, after Mysterio and Heyman as well, I’m starting to think WWE specifically wants to make the headliner someone who is somewhat active every year going forward, and I’m not looking forward to next year’s being headlined by someone in a similar position when they’re sitting on people like The Rock, even.
Maybe we’ll get lucky and it’ll at least be John Cena next year, but if it ends up being just Brothers of Destruction or whatever, I’m going to roll my eyes so hard.
