Welcome back to another Monday Morning Q&A where I toss out some questions to get a feel of how you guys and gals are feeling about certain topics.
So here are 5 questions I’d like to toss out for this week. I’ll give my answers, too, but the key here is that I want to know what YOU think! So make sure you chime in!
1) With Stone Cold Steve Austin a hot topic and St. Patrick’s Day coming up, what is your favorite alcohol-related moment in wrestling history?
The beer truck stands out to me as my overall favorite moment. That was so silly and over the top at the time that it burned itself into my brain as a kid. The fact that they did it again with the milk truck shows how important it was as a notable moment in not only Austin’s career, but the Attitude Era in general.
2) Will Thunder Rosa beat Dr. Britt Baker for the AEW Women’s World Championship at St. Patrick’s Day Slam?
Absolutely, 100%, guaranteed yes. The only reason she didn’t win it at Revolution was to stall for a few more weeks so she could win it in this town.
If she doesn’t, I’ll be utterly shocked.
3) Will Wardlow beat Scorpio Sky for the TNT Championship at St. Patrick’s Day Slam?
I’m 50/50 on this. Part of me thinks Wardlow winning and MJF pulling out the contract to say he’s still under his control and must relinquish the title to him is the most logical outcome. However, they went out of their way to have MJF say he wouldn’t do that. I think that was a means to write it off so nobody questions why it doesn’t happen. Instead, what I’m imagining is going to happen is that MJF costs Wardlow the match in some fashion. That way, Scorpio Sky isn’t a one-week transitional champion.
4) Should Hangman Adam Page have picked The Young Bucks to team with at St. Patrick’s Day Slam, or is that too soon?
Definitely too soon. There are already two title matches on this card, and the six-man tag team match is great enough with Luchasaurus and Jungle Boy. They’re the tag team champions and this will carry over into a reDRagon solo match, possibly. I think AEW needs to sit on The Young Bucks fully turning babyface for a little while longer so they can do the trios match further down the line with Kenny Omega, rather than Adam Page.
5) Speaking of the luck of the Irish, what is more likely to happen at WrestleMania: Finn Balor leaves with the US title, Becky Lynch leaves with the Raw Women’s Championship, or Sheamus finally wins the Intercontinental Championship?
I don’t think any of those are going to happen unless they do something to put Sheamus in Ricochet’s sights. Then, I’d bet on the Intercontinental Championship changing hands. But I think the original game plan was for The New Day to face Sheamus, Ridge Holland and Butch (ugh, just call him Pete Dunne..) in a six-man tag team match. Now that Big E is injured (hoping for a speedy recovery), that nixes that. But I think WWE will just have two members of that trio against Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, instead.
Becky Lynch isn’t retaining her title if WWE cares at all about Bianca Belair. The EST of WWE has to win to offset SummerSlam.
But while Damian Priest should probably win the United States Championship back, I don’t think that is what will happen. Demon King Balor beating Priest to keep the belt is the most likely scenario of these three.
