What Should Be The Main Event Of WWE Bad Blood 2024? | Question Of The Day

Welcome to another eWrestlingNews Question of the Day!

It has yet to be revealed exactly what the main event of WWE Bad Blood 2024 will be. Given how there are only five matches announced for the show and fans are trying to make the case for three of them to be potential closers (primarily two—Hell in a Cell and the tag team match, though there are fans clamoring for Liv Morgan and Rhea Ripley to be the finale), what do you think should end the night?

My question for you today is “What should be the main event of WWE Bad Blood 2024 and why?”

As far as my answer…

If the rumors are true, WWE plans on opening up with the Hell in a Cell match and closing with the tag team match. Perhaps that could be due to setting up the cage and trying to cut down on time by having it up and ready to go from the very start of the event. If that’s the case, it’s hard to argue against that point, other than to say maybe they should use the incredibly long downtime they have between matches where they run a million commercials and Peacock advertisement blocks and use it that way.

There could be a good reason for the tag match closing, with a surprise appearance by someone like The Rock, too. If that’s the case, then you’d surely like to end the show with the biggest story coming out of it, which won’t be just who wins between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre, that’s for sure.

I can’t see any argument for Ripley and Morgan that I would entertain. It’s an important feud and I like them a lot, but that doesn’t mean it takes priority. Funny enough, I thought the shark cage would be a reasoning for this match going on first, but I guess it’s easier to set that up than the Hell in a Cell cage.

Normally, I’m of the opinion that the WWE champion should go on last 9 times out of 10. Sometimes, the world champion or one of the women’s titles can be the main event, or a special attraction. This time around, since Cody Rhodes isn’t defending his title, but he’s teaming with Roman Reigns, it’s a special attraction in and of itself. I get why they’d put this last, but I’d still lean more toward the Hell in a Cell match. Outside of The Rock appearing, what could the tag match possibly do that can top what Punk and McIntyre will do?

I’m anticipating this will be a show where it starts off hot, dips down incredibly, never gets the momentum quite back up, and by the time the main event is happening, people are already a bit ready for it to end, and it’ll be an uphill battle for all of these performers to follow the HIAC match. Here’s hoping I’m wrong and it just gets better as time goes on.
