Welcome to another eWrestlingNews Question of the Day!

Friday afternoon, the news broke that WWE had released Baron Corbin, Indi Hartwell, and Tegan Nox from the company. Not much information has been revealed yet as to why those decisions were made, and it’s safe to say (based on recent releases over the past year or so) that we might not find out all the details. All we can do now is speculate, and that applies to what will happen next for these three now former WWE Superstars.

My question for you today is “Where would you like to see Baron Corbin, Indi Hartwell and Tegan Nox pop up next?”

Remember to answer with your response in the comments below.

As far as my answer…

First off, let me just state the obvious thing in that it sucks to see anyone get released unless they’re requesting their exit and are granted their wishes. That doesn’t appear to be the case here, so I hope no matter what they do, all three of them bounce back in a way that makes them happy and successful.

Also, this is naturally their call, and none of us can tell them what to do, nor can they just demand to go to another company and have them bend to their will. This is just a personal point of view type of question coming from the perspective of a fan.

Baron Corbin is someone I always thought was underrated. I thought he was a lot of fun in NXT when he was wrecking people in a few seconds, he managed to be a funny character, and he had a great finisher. However, realistically, none of these three, including him, are people I would imagine are going to be snatched up by AEW and immediately thrust into the title hunt. So I’m managing my expectations and not just saying he’ll do better there than in WWE. It’s a possibility, though, and it seems he and MJF are cool, so maybe he’ll put in a good word for him.

If I were to guess, I’d say Corbin could go into something outside of wrestling, maybe after doing some indie tours. He could also pop up in TNA and fit in rather well there. I don’t think he’ll end up in AEW, but I wouldn’t mind it whatsoever, unless he were just jobbed out.

Tegan Nox is someone I do think could be signed to AEW 90 days from now. I actually had her on my mental watch list for someone I figured would leave WWE at the next chance she had, since she just wasn’t being used perpetually. Poor girl could never get going in this company, as every time she did, she got injured or WWE just pulled her from the lineup for months at a time. Realistically, I think she’d fare better in TNA overall, or serve a better purpose in Ring of Honor, but if you’re signed to ROH, you’re effectively part of AEW anyway. Nixon Newell popping up on an NWA show or touring the indies wouldn’t shock me, though. Funny enough, I’d also be curious to see how she’d fit in for a place like WOW.

Indi Hartwell also wasn’t able to gain much traction in WWE. At her peak, she was still an underdog NXT women’s champion who many people felt didn’t necessarily deserve the title and would have to prove herself more. WWE, unfortunately, never gave her the opportunity to do that, so she came across as though she hit her ceiling a long, long time ago. That makes me specifically want to see her go to TNA out of all places, since I think she’ll have the most room to grow there and to play around with her character work, rather than being a strictly in-ring talent like she would in AEW/ROH, or not getting the ability to do more than work a match for a paycheck like on the indies.

Wherever they go and whatever they do, I hope it works out for them.
