Welcome to another eWrestlingNews Question of the Day!
A team is only as good as its weakest link. That applies to many things, including this year’s WarGames teams for WWE Survivor Series 2024.
At the end of the matches, five-on-five will ultimately boil down to one person suffering the loss for their team, be it pinfall or submission.
My question for you today is “Who are the weakest links for the men’s and women’s WarGames teams this year?”

As far as my answer…
If the heels lose the women’s match—which I do anticipate happening—my eyes go straight to Candice LeRae. It certainly shouldn’t be the powerhouses of Nia Jax and Raquel Rodriguez. Tiffany Stratton could lose and get chewed out by Jax, but that keeps happening in other ways, and is more closely associated to her Money in the Bank cash-in potential and costing Jax matches with the title on the line. Liv Morgan could certainly take a pin from Rhea Ripley to set up a new title match, but I think WWE can avoid that by having LeRae lose. She’s just the women’s Speed champion and can’t even carry that title to the ring with her, for some reason. I think Candice is underrated and underutilized, but I’m being realistic and not playing favorites.
If by some chance the babyfaces lose the women’s match, I think we can chalk it up to a communication problem between Bayley and Bianca Belair, likely with Bayley taking the pin. However, I wouldn’t rule out the idea of Naomi being the one to lose while trying to play the moderator and peacekeeper between them. Granted, I just don’t think this is going to happen, and they’ll all be standing tall together at the end, but if there’s a weak element of this team, it’s that disconnect.
On the men’s side, the weak link for the heels is absolutely Tonga Loa. While Bronson Reed is the outsider, he’s huge and has a much more impressive track record. Loa is kept away from matches. He’s not protected at all, unlike Jacob Fatu. Solo Sikoa could take the pin if WWE is trying to make a big statement, but I think it means far more if Roman Reigns beats him in singles competition. Between Tama Tonga—who does stand a chance to lose, but tends to wrestle more—and Tonga Loa, I’m going with Loa falling victim.
Now this might throw people off, but while I would say the babyfaces are going to lose from Jimmy Uso taking the pin as the least effective member of the team, I don’t actually think that will happen. I’d actually wager it’s more likely for Jey Uso to suffer the loss to make it hurt more to the audience. However x2, I don’t classify Jey as the weak link. I don’t think losing would be his fault. If the babyfaces lose, I’m suspicious that CM Punk is a mole and will screw them over as part of a plan from Paul Heyman. Effectively, that would make Punk the weak link, as he’d be not even on the same side.
