Who Will Win Tonight’s NXT No. 1 Contender Matches? | Question Of The Day

Welcome to another eWrestlingNews Question of the Day!

Tonight on WWE NXT, there will be two multi-Superstar matches which will determine the challengers for both the NXT Championship and NXT Women’s Championship at the next premium live event, NXT No Mercy.

A gauntlet eliminator bout will see six women’s division stars who have yet to face Roxanne Perez battle it out for the women’s title shot, featuring Wren Sinclair, Adriana Rizzo, Sol Ruca, Kendal Grey, Karmen Petrovic and Jaida Parker.

Ethan Page’s next challenger will be settled in a Triple Threat match with Joe Hendry, Pete Dunne and Wes Lee fighting for the opportunity.

My question for you today is “Who do you think the 2 winners will be?”

Remember to answer with your response in the comments below.

As far as my answer…

This is going to sound mean, even though it isn’t meant to be so harsh, but boy do none of these six women deserve a pay-per-view title shot against Roxanne Perez right now. At best, Sol Ruca would, but she JUST lost two attempts at the Women’s North American Championship. Why would failing two midcard title matches lead into any momentum for the more important title?

But given the lineup, she’s the most accomplished. Someone like Kendal Grey has only wrestled like 4 times on NXT in general (outside of NXT Level Up) and didn’t score any massive enough victories to propel her to the top. The same goes for Rizzo and Sinclair. Parker was another multi-shot midcard loss, and Petrovic has mostly lost her feuds, from what I can remember.

On paper for the marquee, none of them are going to pop a big response. I think Sinclair and Rizzo will take each other out in some way, Grey certainly won’t win, and between Ruca/Petrovic/Parker, I’d rule Parker out since she’s a heel. It’s either Ruca or Petrovic, and no matter who they go with (I’ll say Petrovic), that woman will lose to Perez, for sure.

As far as Ethan Page’s opponent, that’s also a scenario where I think ruling out the heels is the smart play. Trick Williams should cost Pete Dunne the match to continue their feud, while The Rascalz can interfere with Wes Lee’s chances of success. Joe Hendry isn’t feuding with anyone else right now, seemingly, as it looks like he’s moved on from Gallus. He’d be representing TNA Wrestling for a nice crossover bump like Jordynne Grace for Battleground, and his popularity is so big right now that it makes him the only logical solution.

What do you think? Drop your thoughts below!
