Welcome to another eWrestlingNews Question of the Day! Continuing on this week’s theme of WWE SummerSlam 2024 questions, let’s turn our attention to the WWE Women’s Championship match.
One of the biggest looming threats for a title change is the scenario that Tiffany Stratton could cash in her Money in the Bank briefcase. After all, Bayley will be going up against the biggest woman in the entire division, who will surely take a lot out of her.
My question for you today is “Will, and/or should, Tiffany Stratton cash in her Money in the Bank contract? If so, should she win the title, and from whom?”

As far as my answer…
For a long while, I thought this would be a relative guarantee. All signs pointed, in my mind, to Stratton winning the title from Bayley and holding it until Charlotte Flair could return and win it from her to set up a match at WrestleMania 41 against Jade Cargill.
Then, two weeks ago, Bayley trashed Stratton’s MITB briefcase. Now, it is bandaged up, with Nia Jax promising to get Stratton a new briefcase that is “perfect” for her.
By all accounts, that should mean Stratton will debut a new one on tomorrow’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown. I’m assuming it will be pink and very Barbie-esque—and very marketable. So in order to sell that merchandise properly, WWE will need to give it some time for people to see it and want to buy one of their own.
That can’t be accomplished if the very next day, Stratton cashes in her title shot. Whether she wins or loses, she still won’t be carrying around the briefcase anymore. People don’t continue to hold that once they’ve utilized their title opportunity.
That throws my previous notions out the window. Now, I just figure Stratton isn’t going to opt for her title shot until at least a month from now, if not longer. In the meantime, Bayley will either retain by the skin of her teeth, or, what I’m predicting, Jax will be crowned the new champion.
If that does happen, I’ll have to pivot my theory to be that Flair will beat Jax, Stratton will cash in on Flair, who will win it back from Stratton and all of that will go down in the months between now and Royal Rumble, unless the game plan is actually for Stratton versus Flair at WrestleMania instead, with Jade Cargill facing Bianca Belair in another match.
In any case (no pun intended), I no longer think this is the time for Stratton to cash in, and I’m not expecting it anymore.
