WWE NXT vs AEW Title Tuesday, Which Was Better? | Question Of The Day

Welcome to another eWrestlingNews Question of the Day!

Last night, AEW and NXT went head-to-head partially as the second hour of NXT ran simultaneously with a special edition of AEW Dynamite dubbed Title Tuesday. Both shows had impressive in-ring performances, several returns, and major things that went down.

My question for you today is “Which of the shows do you think was better between last night’s WWE NXT and AEW Dynamite Title Tuesday?”

Remember to answer with your response in the comments below.

As far as my answer…

Pulling double duty in the way that I did, which I don’t recommend for anyone to try to watch both of these on a laptop in a foreign country searching for feeds because you can’t find a proper channel AND you’re trying to do coverage and news at the same time…rough. But that had nothing to do with the content on the shows, which I think was overall pretty great.

I’m inclined to side with WWE a lot of the time for my own personal preferences, as I like their style of programming more than AEW in the long run. But I think this was a rather even comparison between these two episodes this week, as they both had ups and downs. Or, more so, ups and things that aren’t necessarily downs, but weren’t as big of a deal to me on a personal level.

For example, I didn’t go nuts at the return of Penelope Ford being thrown in the middle of the four-way that had already changed plans from the original Britt Baker thing. I’m glad she’s back, but too much was going on at that moment for me to really be wowed. It was more so “Oh and Ford is back, too. Cool.” Then again, I had a similar reaction to Nikkita Lyons returning in her backstage segment alongside Ava and Lola Vice. Perhaps that’s because Ford hasn’t achieved much in AEW, so I just assume she’s going to be fodder for Jamie Hayter soon enough, and Lyons keeps getting injured every time she steps back in the ring, so I’m equally assuming she’s going to fall victim of the same thing again. It’s hard to get invested in the two of them, but I do appreciate their returns and I hope they end up doing great things.

Daniel Garcia sticking with AEW? Good news for those fans, disappointing news for me who wanted him in NXT. Stephanie Vaquer making her debut? Great news for NXT.

Oba Femi suffering his first loss was a big standout for me. Title changes are a big deal, especially when someone is a nigh-unstoppable beast like Femi has been. That overall takes the highlight in my eyes for the in-ring stuff, even though the match itself wasn’t as technically great as some of the other contests on both shows.

The Lexis King segment was odd and I didn’t like it. Much of the WrestleDream hype segments did nothing for me. Switching up some of the talent with Lance Archer and LFI was neat. Sexyy Red I could have done without, but I liked Randy Orton having a quick backstage thing with Axiom and Nathan Frazer.

My true feelings would put these at a bit of a tie, but I think the better show for most people will be AEW, even if I would rank the Tony D’Angelo title change as the overall most interesting part of both shows.
