Highlights:
- Drew McIntyre eliminated Brock Lesnar (with help from Ricochet) during the Rumble, and lasted longer than any other superstar to earn the biggest win of his career to date
- Edge returned to action after nine years of retirement as a surprise entrant in the Rumble
- Other surprise Rumble entrants included MVP, Mighty Molly and Kelly Kelly
- Brock Lesnar tied the elimination record in the Men’s Rumble while dominating the first half of the match
- Both Bianca Belair & Shayna Baszler set a new record in Women’s Rumbles with eight eliminations each
- AJ Styles injured his shoulder while being speared by Edge, and Beth Phoenix appeared to suffer a cut on her head which bloodied much of her hair
- Otis saved Mandy Rose from elimination by allowing her to fall directly on top of him
- In other matches, all WWE Championships were retained by their title holders
