Here are the full results for the episode of AEW Dynamite airing on October 18, 2023.
AEW Dynamite Results (10/18/2023)
#1. Penta El Zero Miedo vs. Jay White (w/ Bullet Club Gold) – Winner: Jay White with a major Bullet Club assist
– Renee Paquette is with MJF. He tells Jay White he will get his title back before Full Gear. He wants Juice Robinson as he is out for blood, and it will be on Jay White’s hands. The Acclaimed show up again to offer their help. Max Caster screws it up by saying they can scissor afterward, or he will win the battle royal tonight and beat MJF for his Dynamite Diamond Ring.
#2. Hikaru Shida vs. Emi Sakura – Winner: Hikaru Shida
– Adam Copeland talks with Renee Paquette about his lifelong relationship with Christian Cage. He doesn’t understand why Christian is acting the way he is. There’s no need for that at this stage of his career. Adam is not interested in the TNT title, but he will be there for Christian when Luchasaurus and Nick Wayne leave him.
#3. Wardlow vs. Ryan Nemeth – Winner: Wardlow with a single powerbomb
Tony Schiavone gets a quick word for Wardlow. He doesn’t say anything. Instead, he shows MJF wrote on his wristband.
– Kenny Omega is fired up to face Kyle Fletcher tonight. If he wants to win, he has to up his game. When Kenny is done with the Don Callis Family, he wants to get back to challenging for the AEW World title. Speaking of that, MJF shows up to share how much he respects Kenny Omega, before shaking his hand, and whispering in his ear “13 days, b****” (because that is when he beats Kenny Omega’s record title reign)
– Just as it looks like Adam Cole is having fun with Roderick Strong & The Kingdom, he loses it because Roddy got upset at him for not cutting the crusts off his sandwich. He’s leaving to get surgery.
– The Don Callis Family get in the ring and have something to say. Last week, they made history, because in over thirty years of one of the greatest careers, Chris Jericho has never been manhandled like he did last week. Powerhouse Hobbs broke him in half. In 1998, Hobbs had the chance to meet Chris Jericho, but he insulted him and his grandmother. He knew from that point, that when he got the chance, he would hurt him over and over.
Don Callis says Kyle Fletcher let them down after Sammy Guevara got injured. Kyle shows up to get in his face. Don wants to know what he has to say. Kyle says maybe he was the weakest link that night, but he will prove that he doesn’t need any help to beat Kenny Omega. Don says if he beats Kenny, they will talk business next week.
#4. Kenny Omega vs. Kyle Fletcher – Winner: Kenny Omega
#5. Lance Archer vs. Barrett Brown – Winner: Lance Archer
– Swerve Strickland is ready to release his latest music video, because Hangman Page cost him the TNT title. He should be celebrating, but Page made this personal.
– Sting wants to reflect before he says the word. Lex Luger. Steiner Brothers. Buff Bagwell. He traveled up and down the roads. Dusty Rhodes was the most charismatic man he ever saw. Hulk Hogan transcended wrestling, and he learned something from him. He has to give a lot to Ric Flair for all the moments. The crowd chants “Thank You Sting”.
He wonders what makes guys come back year after year. It’s the smell of the arenas. It’s the camaraderie. It is the roar of the fans. His body doesn’t do what it used to do. Should he be jumping off balconies? We’ll get back to that. The retirement in 2015 did not sit well with him. The only sure thing about Sting is nothing is sure.
He wants to address his retirement right here. His first match was at Revolution 2021, and his last match will be at Revolution 2024. The last key thing to know is that the only sure thing about Sting, is his retirement match is for sure.
– Toni Storm has another silent movie, except this time it includes RJ City and written dialogue.
– Nick Wayne’s Mom doesn’t know who Nick Wayne is anymore. He snaps at her and says Christian Cage is his new father now. The TNT Champion asks if he is ready to come home. His mom slaps him, so Nick says she is dead to him. After Cage and Wayne leave the room, Darby Allin takes them both out. The fight spills out to ringside, where Sting and Luchasaurus also get involved. Sting briefly locks the Scorpion Deathlock on Christian, but Luchasaurus saves him.
– Orange Cassidy did not know how much he cares for the International Championship, but now that he has lost it, and won it back, he knows how much it means. He has unfinished business with the title.
– MJF is at commentary for the next match. At one point, he goes to ringside to give Dustin Rhodes some money motivation.
#6. [Dynamite Dozen Battle Royale] Participants: Dustin Rhodes, Juice Robinson, Matt Sydal, Trent Baretta, Johnny TV, Max Caster, Jeff Hardy, Matt Hardy, Jake Hager, Daniel Garcia, Komander & Matt Menard
Winner: Juice Robinson by last eliminating Max Caster*
*Before the end of the match, Jay White attacked MJF at the commentary table. MJF briefly got his title back, but White hit him with a low blow. This provided enough of a distraction for Juice Robinson to put his ring on and knock out Max Caster with a stiff strike.
