Prior to making it to the big leagues, the Dark Order’s Preston Vance trained under Damian Priest.
During a recent appearance on the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, Vance revealed that Priest once told him he [Priest] would never be signed to any major promotion because he was too old. At the time, Priest told Vance that his goal was to actually get him signed so he could have a piece of his career. He said,
“I remember when I met [Priest] he was … already wrestling for maybe 12 years. And he told me ‘My goal is to get you signed, just so I have a piece of your career, because I know I’m never going to get signed. I’m too old.’ And now he blew up, you know?”
Priest, who is part of the Judgment Day faction, signed with WWE in October of 2018. Vance has been signed with AEW since its inception.
