Adam “Cope” Copeland has acknowledged that the end of his in-ring career is approaching as his AEW contract nears its conclusion.
During an appearance on the “First Up with Korolnek & Colaiacovo” podcast, the AEW wrestler was asked how much longer he sees himself continuing to wrestle. He said,
“Not much longer. The schedule now is much more manageable than it used to be. There’s no way I could handle the 200-plus days a year that I did before — recovery just takes too long these days. After a match, it takes me nearly a week just to walk normally again.”
He added, “I’m 51 now, and I figure I’ve got maybe until 53 — until the end of this contract. Then it’s probably time to step away while I can still limp out [laughs], nurse my wounds, and dive into a whole lot of yoga.”
