Jon Moxley successfully retained his AEW World Championship at AEW Worlds End 2024, where he defeated Orange Cassidy, Jay White, and Hangman Page. The match saw Moxley’s stablemates, the Death Riders, interfere, allowing Moxley to secure the pinfall on White. This marks Moxley’s fourth reign as AEW World Champion, which has now lasted for 78 days.

However, Moxley has a new challenger in Adam Copeland, who made a surprise return during the post-match chaos.

As Moxley and the Death Riders were attacking Cassidy, White, and Page, Copeland, alongside FTR, rushed to the ring to make the save. Copeland used a bar to hit a crossface on Moxley. After Moxley managed to escape, Copeland made it clear that he was coming for the champion.
