The September 2nd episode of AEW Dynamite, marking its fifth anniversary, saw a decrease in viewership and ratings compared to the previous week’s Grand Slam episode.

AEW Dynamite, which ran for an additional 31 minutes, drew 680,000 viewers and achieved a 0.20 rating in the 18-49 key demo (equivalent to 274,000 viewers). The show also achieved a rating of 0.11 in the 18-34 key demo.

Had AEW Dynamite not run over its scheduled time, it would have drawn 704,000 viewers and a rating of 0.21 in the 18-49 key demo. The show ranked #8 for the night and #5 in its time slot.

AEW Dynamite was surpassed by the New York Mets vs. Milwaukee Brewers Wild Card Series game on ESPN (3,690,000/0.87), the Atlanta Braves vs. San Diego Padres game on ESPN 2 (2,059,000/0.52), as well as Fox News’ Jesse Watters (3,675,000/0.25) and Hannity (3,212,000/0.23), and MTV’s Challenge (517,000/0.22).

Compared to the previous week, AEW Dynamite experienced a 3.1% decrease in viewership, a 19.6% decrease in the 18-49 demographic, and a 30.7% decrease in the 18-34 demographic.

Compared to the previous year, AEW Dynamite saw a 15% decrease in viewership, a 24.7% decrease in the 18-49 demographic, and a 54.9% decrease in the 18-34 demographic.

The show drew 61,000 male viewers in the 18-34 demo (down 19.7%), 18,000 female viewers in the 18-34 demo (down 52.6%), 140,000 male viewers in the 35-49 demo (up 7.7%), and 55,000 female viewers in the 35-49 demo (down 21.4%).

The audience skewed heavily towards males, with 73.4% of viewers in the 18-49 demographic being male.
