AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Mone and ROH Women’s World Champion Athena recently traded shots on social media, and it seems to be part of AEW’s greater plans.
Fightful Select is reporting that AEW is planning a big match for these two champions.
AEW is working on this matchup, which could happen as soon as Dynasty 2025 on Sunday, April 6.
Mone won the TBS Title in May 2024 and has held it for over 298 days. Athena won the ROH Women’s World Title in December 2022 at ROH Final Battle and has been the champion for over two years, totaling 831 days.
Athena has not appeared on an AEW TV broadcast since AEW Battle Of The Belts X, where she defended her title against Red Velvet.
Athena and Mone faced each other last in a Triple Threat match on WWE RAW on May 7, 2018. This upcoming AEW match would be their first time working together in nearly seven years.

That's cute, considering it took you over a year to get 16 wins…
So let's just agree minion 400237 3/4 still sucks and you're gonna have to try harder than that if you want me…With love and anger
