An AEW wrestler has undergone surgery after being out of action for several months due to a back injury.
The wrestler is The Blade, who joined the wrestling industry in 2000 and spent many years on the independent circuit.
The Blade has competed for TNA Wrestling using the name Braxton Sutter, as well as for CZW and ROH.
In 2019, The Blade joined AEW as a tag team with The Butcher. His most recent match in AEW/ROH was in January when he and his partner lost to Top Flight (Dante Martin & Darius Martin) on an episode of ROH TV.
A month later, The Blade faced Kody Lane at the A1 Watch The Throne 7 – The Kings Are Back event.
The Blade revealed in a recent Instagram post that he underwent back fusion surgery.
In the caption, he wrote, ”Back fusion was a success 👍 Thank you to everyone for your continued support ❤️ Means a lot to this Grizzled Vet Utility Brother.”
