Darby Allin is taking a break from AEW to focus on his upcoming Mount Everest expedition.
The decision to write Allin off AEW television sparked some backlash from fans online, with some arguing that the former TNT Champion should not be stepping away from AEW while feuding with the Death Riders.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that Allin’s hiatus was always planned and that the schedule has been known for quite a while.
Everything that led to Allin’s hiatus was part of his long-term storyline in AEW.
It was noted that this would allow the Death Riders to gain heat by attacking him several times.
Allin previously stated that he plans to return before AEW All In: Texas 2025.
