Backstage Reaction To Britt Baker & MJF’s Heated Confrontation

As we’ve been reporting here on eWn, Britt Baker was recently suspended and fined by AEW’s disciplinary committee following a backstage incident involving MJF and his girlfriend, Alicia Atout.

The incident originated backstage on the July 17th episode of AEW Dynamite, when Baker allegedly made a remark about MJF, which Atout overheard. This led to several confrontations involving MJF, Baker, and Atout.

Baker reportedly used profanity toward Atout and demanded her removal from the women’s locker room.

The situation escalated when MJF, in a moment of frustration, punched a wall backstage before his match with Will Ospreay. The AEW American Champion even entered the women’s locker room to address the matter directly. Ospreay also addressed the matter with Baker afterward.

Despite this, Baker continued to appear on television while an HR investigation was underway. The investigation concluded with the decision to suspend Baker but not MJF.

Fightful Select is reporting that the decision to suspend Baker has raised internal concerns regarding potential bias, with some feeling that one side was favored heavily.

This has led to discussions among AEW talent, with several expressing the belief that the matter could have been handled more impartially.

Nevertheless, many within AEW are eager to move on, although some have expressed disappointment that such issues continue to occur.

While AEW President Tony Khan’s involvement in the investigation remains unclear, most parties were sympathetic to Baker regarding this controversy.
