Jack Perry has been absent from AEW since the incident involving himself and CM Punk at AEW All In last August. This incident resulted in Perry’s suspension and CM Punk’s firing from Tony Khan’s promotion. Despite Perry working with New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) in recent months, he remains under contract with AEW.
Perry disregarded Punk’s advice against using real glass during a TV segment. He performed a spot on a car windshield at All In 2023 and made a reference to using real glass on camera, which led to the physical altercation backstage.
Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Perry is slated to return soon. He wrote,
“The Young Bucks vs. FTR match in the finals of the tournament for the tag titles is a ladder match. A lot of people expect the return of Jack Perry here.” It was added “he’s starting imminently in AEW.”
