AEW has officially signed Kevin Knight following his match against Jay White on AEW Collision. Knight’s NJPW contract expired in January during Wrestle Kingdom 19 week, and while NJPW wanted to retain him, many expected him to sign with a U.S. promotion.

Knight met with Tony Khan and Rocky Romero in early February while also wrestling an ROH TV taping match against AR Fox. He was reportedly considering talks with WWE, and while WWE had interest, sources indicated he likely would have started in NXT if signed. A WWE Performance Center staff member noted that Knight had already wrestled in multiple major promotions, including NJPW, CMLL, AEW, ROH, MLW, and TNA.

TNA sources believed that Knight wouldn’t return unless he joined WWE. He previously appeared in TNA between January and March 2024 and also worked MLW shows last year.

Knight made his AEW in-ring debut last night on Collision, where Jay White defeated him. The show aired live on TNT and was simulcast on Max.
