Earlier this week, there were several reports that Shane McMahon was interested in joining All Elite Wrestling. This all stemmed from Conrad Thompson telling Jim Ross that they both had a mutual friend who stated that McMahon had reached out to several AEW roster members about potentially appearing in the company. AEW President Tony Khan has since claimed he’s never met with or had any conversations with the son of the former WWE Chairman.

According to a report from Fightful Select, many within AEW have said that Shane McMahon hadn’t been mentioned “at a high level.” When several talents asked higher-ups about the possibility of McMahon appearing in AEW, they were directly told that it wasn’t being considered.

Additionally, it is said that Vince McMahon told people in WWE when he was there that Shane “would never get another pop in the company again” following the events that transpired at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view event where Shane was accused of trying to take control of the men’s Royal Rumble match to get himself over. He was later suspended over the situation. With that being said, Shane made an appearance at WrestleMania 39 after his father departed the company. During that appearance, he was injured.

It’s worth noting that Shane McMahon is no longer under any kind of contract with WWE whether that be as a talent, legend or the like. His appearance in the WWE 2K24 video game is said to have been part of a separate contract.

And finally, there is no word on what the current relationship between Vince and Shane McMahon is like.
