Bryan Danielson Beats Nigel McGuinness On AEW Dynamite, Kip Sabian Foils Christian Cage’s Cash-In

AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam 2024 kicked off with a bang with Nigel McGuinness reiterating his challenge to Bryan Danielson, who wasn’t coming out. McGuinness demanded a 10-count from the referee and to be declared the winner if Danielson didn’t adhere to it. Six seconds later, The Final Countdown echoed throughout Arthur Ashe Stadium and the AEW World Champion made his entrance.

The two rivals wrestled a hard-fought contest, which ended when Danielson was able to make McGuinness tap out. It was a definitive win to possibly end their story, but the idea of a celebration was quickly thrown out when Christian Cage’s music hit next.

Coming out with his contract for a title shot at any time in hand, Cage was ready to sign his name and make it official that he would challenge right then and there to take advantage of a worn out Danielson. However, his plans were foiled when Kip Sabian appeared from behind and stole the pen, preventing Cage from making the cash-in official.

Sabian ran off, with Cage chasing him and nearly bumping into PAC and Claudio Castagnoli in the process, who were eerily looking on.
