Bryan Danielson has opened up about the difficulties of his retirement in WWE that robbed the former World Champion of two years of in-ring action.
Danielson, who wrestled as Daniel Bryan at the time, retired after suffering repeated neck injuries that ended two championship reigns.
On a recent edition of the “Nikki And Brie Show” podcast, Danielson discussed his retirement which was never what he wanted. He said,
“I didn’t want to retire, but they wouldn’t let me wrestle again. What I found is people are sad for a bit. Then, everybody just moves on, and it doesn’t matter. The hardest part for it is probably for the person who does it.”
Danielson would return to action at WrestleMania 34 in 2018 and would remain active with the promotion until his exit in April 2021.
Danielson is currently out of action after his WrestleDream loss to Jon Moxley last month. It is believed he will require neck surgery this year.
