Chris Jericho believes that the upcoming CMLL 91 Aniversario show will not be his final time appearing for the promotion or competing in Mexico.
On the September 4th edition of CMLL Informa, Jericho spoke about his history competing in Mexico and why he feels the upcoming CMLL event won’t be the end. He said,
“I would love to be in the Grand Prix and I would love to do a Mask vs. Hair match. All of the things that I’ve done in Mexico in the past, I would love to return to again. It’s amazing to me that it took 30 years to return to Arena Mexico, but I don’t think that this match versus Mistico is the only time that I’ll return. I would like to come back many times. I love wrestling in Mexico, I love the fans, and there’s so many great luchadores in CMLL. There’s no reason why I can’t come back many, many times.”
Jericho will face Mistico at CMLL 91 Aniversario after attacking him at a CMLL event in June. The match will be Jericho’s first match in Arena Mexico since 1995.
On the show, Jericho also spoke of future matches he could have with Mistico which could see championship gold or Mistico’s mask on the line.
CMLL 91 Aniversario will take place next week at Arena Mexico. The show will feature talent from CMLL and AEW, including CMLL Women’s Champion Willow Nightingale.
