Cope and Christian Cage held the tag team titles several times in WWE, but could a run with the AEW World Tag Team Championships be in their future?
Speaking to TMZ Sports, Cope recalled how Cage and FTR being in AEW helped convince him to join the promotion in late 2023. He said,
“I looked at it and I got a few close friends in this industry, like the close ones, and those are three of them and they’re all in one place. Oh, man, that seems very intriguing to me.”
Though Cage and Cope have been adversaries so far in AEW, the Rated-R Superstar isn’t counting out a tag-team reunion. He said,
“To be able to come back, run it with Christian, and do what we did, and who knows where it goes from there. I feel like at some point, a CNC tag team run should be in the cards, but you never know.”
Cope and Cage have faced off multiple times in AEW, with their most recent match seeing Cope win the TNT Title in Toronto in March of last year.
