HOOK Retires FTW Championship At AEW Grand Slam 2024, Full Gear 2024 Tix On Sale

Big news on the championship front of All Elite Wrestling at AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam 2024 as HOOK not only retained the FTW Championship over Roderick Strong in an FTW Rules match, but took to the microphone after the bout to make an announcement.

Tony Schiavone gave a history lesson that in 1998 only three miles away from Arthur Ashe Stadium at the Elks Lodge, the FTW title was created by Taz. HOOK thanked Schiavone and said that all good things must come to an end. HOOK said,

“On behalf of my family, I’d like to thank each and every wrestler out there who’s ever competed for this championship right here. And on top of that, I’d like to thank each and every one of you fans out there for supporting this FTW Championship. And so now, at this very moment, the FTW Championship is officially retired.”

With that, HOOK gave the belt to his father and they embraced.

Also noteworthy, Strong shook hands with HOOK after the match, followed by Matt Taven and Mike Bennett following suit.

Additionally, this year’s AEW Full Gear pay-per-view event will take place on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

In celebration of AEW Grand Slam, the pre-sale access for tickets to Full Gear 2024 is now ongoing, using the code AEF6FULL.
