AEW commentator Jim Ross isn’t exactly sure what AI is, but is hopeful that his grandchildren will one day get to hear his calls.
AI has been used more over the past year to replicate the voices of real people, including 16-time WWE World Champion John Cena.
On a recent edition of his “Grilling JR” podcast, Ross was asked about AI one day replicating him so his grandchildren can hear him. He said,
“First of all, I don’t know what the f*** AI is. I know it’s out there. I’ve heard people talk about it. But I’m just being very upfront and frank because that’s how I work. So I’m not the best person to explain my potential in AI.
“To the second part of the question, that would be really cool for my grandkids or their kids to see grandpa doing his thing, so if I could get paid for it [laughs], I’m happy to do it.”
Ross is heralded by many as the greatest commentator of all time, and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2007 for his efforts.
The Oklahoma native has been commentating for AEW since 2019 but has experienced multiple breaks due to health issues.
