AEW commentator Jim Ross has given the latest update on his health after undergoing cancer surgery on his right hip earlier this year.

On a recent edition of his “Grilling JR” podcast, Ross spoke about feeling better in himself after having the surgery. He said,

“I feel better. I feel better about traveling; I’m not so hesitant about traveling right now because I’m feeling good. My hip still bothers me, I wonder how long a goddamn hip replacement takes to heal, but it ain’t happened for me yet. But it’s getting better, so I’m doing all I can to keep my presence out there and enjoy going out there and meeting with the fans. It’s great, it’s invigorating, and it makes me feel young.”

Ross has been with AEW since 2019 and has called some of the company’s most significant matches and is a regular fixture of pay-per-view events.

On the podcast, Ross recalled meeting fans who have called him the voice of their childhood, and how his attitude has changed on the description. He said,

“I used to be leery of that and hesitant to engage because my ego told me it made me look old. I don’t give a s**t anymore. I’m blessed that it’s happening.”
