On the May 1st episode of AEW Dynamite, Kenny Omega made his first television appearance since December 2023 and discussed his recovery from diverticulitis.
Following the promo, The Elite, including The Young Bucks, Jack Perry, and Kazuchika Okada, launched a surprise attack, resulting in Omega’s temporary write-off from AEW television.
Omega thereafter underwent surgery and is currently on the road to recovery, with the need to regain fitness and undergo training for an in-ring return at the highest level.
Omega recently began training with his Golden Lovers partner, Kota Ibushi, and both men are gearing up for their highly anticipated AEW return.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that Omega is discussing his return as though it’s a certainty rather than a mere possibility, suggesting that it may happen pretty soon.
The plan from the beginning has been to set up a fifth match against Kazuchika Okada.
