Lio Rush competed in the TNT Title match at Sunday’s AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door 2024 pay-per-view event. Regrettably, he sustained an injury during the match. He has since provided an update regarding his current health status.
At AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door 2024, the TNT Championship was contested in a highly competitive Ladder Match featuring Jack Perry, Rush, El Phantasmo, Dante Martin, Mark Briscoe, and Konosuke Takeshita. Perry eventually emerged as the victor, securing the prestigious title.
Following the event, it was announced that Rush had sustained an injury during the match. The former WWE Superstar subsequently withdrew from Beyond Wrestling’s upcoming ‘Americanrana’ show on July 4.
In response to his injury, Rush communicated via Twitter, confirming that he will require time to recuperate, including a couple of ice baths, and expressed his optimism regarding his recovery. He wrote,
“I’m not suffering, but man am I in some pain. What a night. What a match. I’ll be back for more. Thanks to everyone for riding with me on this journey through the #ForbiddenDoor.”
Rush followed this up with another tweet, writing, “I’m good guys. Couple ice baths and I’ll be straight. I appreciate the concern.”
