The semifinals of the Women’s Owen Hart Cup have been settled now that Mariah May has defeated Saraya during the Zero Hour of AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door III.
Previously, Willow Nightingale defeated Serena Deeb, Kris Statlander took out Nyla Rose and Hikaru Shida beat Deonna Purrazzo over the course of Dynamite, Rampage and Collision from the past week or so.
During the pre-show of tonight’s massive pay-per-view event, Mariah May scored a pin over Saraya to now position herself as Shida’s next opponent. That match takes place on next week’s Dynamite: Beach Break special, as well as Nightingale vs. Statlander. The finals of the Owen Hart Cup will take place on July 10, 2024 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
“Timeless” Toni Storm and Mina Shirakawa both showed their support for May after the match, leading to some more of their awkward tension as they will clash later on tonight for the AEW Women’s World Championship.
