During a recent appearance on the “Walkway to Fight Club” podcast, Matt Cardona discussed how he hasn’t been approached by AEW or WWE and how he prefers not to be a prominent figure in a smaller promotion.

You can check out some highlights from the podcast below:

On not receiving offers from AEW or WWE: “I don’t like being this big fish in a small pond. If WWE or AEW called and there was a good offer with some intent to use me a certain way, of course, I’d have that conversation. But I’m not gonna BS it, I haven’t gotten an offer from either of those two companies.”

On not receiving an offer from AEW after his match with Adam Copeland: “‘Holy s***’ chants on my entrance, it made me think, ‘Oh my God, everything that I’ve been doing these past few years are working,’” he said. “A, awesome, kicka*s match. B, great response from the fans. C, social numbers were up. I thought I’m definitely getting a call. I’ll get an offer. Phone never rang. … at the time I was devastated.’”

On how the Edgeheads team was inspired by HBO’s Entourage: “Being one of the Edgeheads … it was our pitch. At the time there was this show on TV called ‘Entourage’ and we thought that Edge could be the [main character] Vinnie Chase and we could be his entourage.”

On Edge seeing their potential: “At the time, we had just been called up to the main roster. He didn’t need [us] but he was smart enough to realize ‘I can use these guys to take all my bumps. It can add so much to my character. It’s a way to steal the title instead of winning it.’”

During a recent appearance on “The Masked Man Show” podcast, former AEW International Champion Will Ospreay discussed mixing it up with Ricochet in AEW.

You can check out some highlights from the podcast below:

On getting back in the ring with Ricochet: “I’m a lot older is the difference. Maybe a few beats slower than what I was, but a few beats slower than what I was is still faster than quite a lot of the guys in the world of wrestling. When I first locked up with Ricochet it was RevPro in 2013. I was an eager young man wanting to learn and be established. Everybody remembers the Super Juniors match in 2016. That was basically us being like, ‘You do you. I do me. Let’s hope we can produce magic in Korakuen Hall for that main event.’ We did just that. After that match, we had a few matches after that, but from there we went on our individual journeys.”

On always paying homage to Ricochet: “I’ve always paid homage to Ricochet and told him that without him, his helping and instructing, I don’t think my career would be what it is now. I’ve always wanted to scratch that itch, just to be like, ‘What does it look like now?’ because I don’t wrestle that way. Doing it this time around, that first beginning bit that we did, for me, it was like fan service. Play the beginning hits. The moment the superhero landing was done, it was time to be like, ‘Alright, let’s find out who is better.’ It was bomb after bomb after bomb, and we were going out there doing what we would do in any given circumstance if you put us in a big match scenarios.”
