Matt Hardy’s tenure with All Elite Wrestling has come to an end with the veteran performer now officially a free agent in the wrestling industry.

Fightful Select is reporting that Hardy is no longer with AEW. It has previously been reported that his contract was set to expire in late March.

Hardy told those close to him that he was allowing his deal to lapse. While AEW did offer him a new deal, he opted not to sign it.

Hardy debuted for AEW in March of 2020 as his ‘Broken’ persona but the gimmick was abandoned as it didn’t work effectively at the crowd-less pandemic era events.

Matt’s contract was supposed to expire at the same time as Jeff Hardy’s deal but the younger Hardy has had time added to his contract to make up for a break from TV.

Matt Hardy recently attended a WWE Monday Night RAW taping that took place in Raleigh, North Carolina. He last appeared for WWE in February 2020.
