Matt Hardy is pleased that WWE NXT World Champion Ethan Page didn’t settle for an easy payday in All Elite Wrestling but instead chose to bet on himself.
Shortly after ending his time with AEW, Page joined WWE NXT and has since gone on to capture the NXT World Championship with a victory at NXT Heatwave.
On a recent edition of his “The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy” podcast, Matt Hardy spoke about Page recognizing that there was a glass ceiling for him in AEW. He said,
“Super proud of Ethan [Page] for believing in himself… Ethan didn’t just settle for a payday. He wanted to go somewhere where he could still bust his ass and grind away and become a champion and continue to elevate his status.”
Hardy himself left AEW relatively recently after feeling he and Jeff were often overlooked. Both have since joined TNA Wrestling but are not under contracts at this time.
