Matt Hardy has shared who he would support (if he had to) in the tensions surrounding CM Punk and The Elite that would overshadow All Out 2022.
After making a series of damning remarks on the post-show media scrum, Punk and the Elite had a backstage altercation that saw all parties be suspended.
On a recent edition of his “The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy” podcast, Matt Hardy was asked which side he’d fall on but made clear he’s moved on from the situation. He said,
“At the end of the day, I don’t have a problem with Punk. I don’t agree how all that went down, if I’m standing by one party it would be the Bucks and The Elite.
“But at the end of the day, I don’t care. I actually saw Ace Steel at TV, said, ‘Hello, yeah we’re all good,’ whatever. I don’t have any … life is too f**king short to have any kind of problem or hate with anyone, I’ll say that right now. Life is too f**king short, get past it, get past yourself, worry about yourself, and what you’re doing day to day.”
The Elite would be brought back for AEW Full Gear in November 2022 while Punk was brought back in June 2023 around the launch of AEW Collision.
After a backstage incident with Jack Perry, Punk was fired from AEW on the eve of All Out 2023. He has since returned to WWE and has had no issues backstage.
