MVP and Shelton Benjamin made their AEW debut at last month’s WrestleDream 2024 pay-per-view event, and a few weeks later, Bobby Lashley debuted on AEW Dynamite Fright Night, where he attacked Swerve Strickland.
During a recent interview with Renee Paquette, MVP shared the reasons behind the reformation of The Hurt Syndicate, previously known as The Hurt Business in WWE, within AEW.
MVP stated, “Unfortunately, it was ended long before anyone was ready for it to end. We felt that we wanted to give our story the proper ending that it deserved. Tony Khan was kind enough to allow us to bring our conglomerate here.”
Lashley said he had wanted to do something similar to The Hurt Business since his boxing days and that AEW was the ideal opportunity to do so again.
Lashley will face Strickland in his in-ring debut at AEW Full Gear 2024.
