Swerve Strickland is your new AEW World Heavyweight Champion.
At Sunday night’s AEW Dynasty 2024 pay-per-view event, Swerve Strickland (w/ Prince Nana) defeated Samoa Joe to capture the AEW World Championship.
The main event saw Strickland and Joe wage war for the prestigious title. As the two wrestlers fought on the turnbuckle – Swerve jumped off and landed a powerbomb on Joe.
With Joe motionless, Strickland followed up with The Swerve Stomp for the pin to win the AEW World Championship.
