Jon Moxley is your new AEW World Champion.
During the main event of AEW WrestleDream 2024, Bryan Danielson and “Mox” faced off in a hard-fought battle. The finish came when Moxley hit Danielson with a Gotch-style piledriver and locked in a sleeper.
Following the match, Marina Shafir handed Moxley a plastic bag, which is similar to what happened at All Out 2024, but Darby Allin and Wheeler Yuta came out to make the save.
As Wheeler was acting like a babyface, he turned on Allin and suffocated him with the bag.
Private Party, Jeff Jarrett and many others all ran in to make the save.
The show went off the air with Danielson being put on a stretcher and being taken out of the arena.
Bryan Danielson’s AEW World Title reign comes to an end at 50 days, while Moxley becomes the first ever four-time World Champion in AEW history.
It’s worth noting that Danielson’s “full-time” wrestling career will now come to an end. But that doesn’t mean he won’t continue to wrestle on a “part-time” basis.
