We’ve got new AEW World Tag Team Champions, as The Hurt Syndicate defeated Private Party to win the AEW World Tag Team Championship on the January 22, 2025 episode of AEW Dynamite.
Over the past few weeks, The Hurt Syndicate made it clear they had the tag titles in their sights. In fact, it was almost a moot point to even wrestle the match, given how much they’ve been looking like the inevitable next champions. And they made good on that impression by doing just what they always say they’re going to do—they hurt people.
Zay and Quen tried their hardest to hang on, but a spear from Bobby Lashley on Isiah Kassidy did them in, and MVP’s crew is now holding gold.
Interestingly, this is Lashley’s first tag team title reign, having only held singles gold in WWE.
